Monday - 19.00 - Distance Running Training - Tilsley Park, Abingdon
Whilst this is not a coached session, it will help develop your running endurance, technique and confidence. The standard route is 10km, but shorter routes can be taken. The session is suitable for everybody, even if you aren't running at the longer distance. No-one is left behind and there is always somebody to run with.
Tuesday - 19:00hrs - Run Bike Run / Cycle Time Trial / Junior Run Bike Run - Dalton Barracks, OX13 6JB
Come along for a real blast of exciting training that is guaranteed to improve your biking, running and transition speed. Senior and Junior members will both do a run-bike-run session using the off-road environment at the airfield. There will also be the option for you to do the Bike Loop as a Cycle time trial. During the year we will keep a record and there may be some prizes available at the end of the season. Best attendance / Most improved / Series winner. For the session you will need to bring: Bike (preferably with rear light), Helmet, Bike shoes (if you use), running shoes, drink and any other equipment you may use during a race.
Thursday - 19:00-20:00 / 20:00-21:00hrs - Pool Swim - Abingdon White Horse Leisure centre, OX14 3PJ
£3 payable to coaching staff on poolside (do not pay at reception) Please come along to your usual session for a structured swim session that will improve your fitness and technique. If you have them bring along your fins, hand paddles etc.Also bring a drink.

I am sure you will all join me in wishing our very own Andy Male all the luck and favourable winds as he takes on a double ironman this weekend. The event run continuously, and Andy will swim 7.6km, the bike 360km finishing it off with a 84km run. Wow!! My legs are hurting just typing that. I'm sure Andy will be pleased to get any messages of encouragement, words of wisdom and general instructions to HTFU via Facebook, which his support crew can relay to him.
As many of you are aware White Horse Leisure Centre is closing their pool for redevelopment from the end of June 2016. The club's last session at this venue will be 30 June 2016, until we return there to the new facility in the autumn. Over summer we have arranged for sessions to take place 8 - 9pm in Thursdays at Radley College pool. The first session at Radley will be on Thursday 7 July. http://www.radley.org.uk/Contact-Us Sessions will start promptly at 8 and finish promptly at 9, so please be on time so you are changed, have paid, and are ready to swim at 8pm. The cost to members will remain £3 per week. We have hired the whole pool so will be able to offer different ability sessions, as we do now. The cost for this does mean that we are only able to offer one time slot, and I hope that you will all bear with us over the summer if you usually swim at 7pm.

Some of you joined us for a swim in the Thames in May when the election counting closed the leisure centre. For anyone training for an open water tri or swimming event, or who just enjoys swimming this is a great way of getting training in if you can't always get to the lake. If you're keen to get together with like minded people for more river swimming sessions then get onto the Facebook group and see who's free! These are non-coached sessions amd a great way to get some extra distance in. For anyone looking at longer distances we have a fledgling group getting together to swim from Day's Lock (near Little Wittenham) to Wallingford on Saturday 25 June, roughly 6km.
