Welcome to this weeks newsletter - included in this week is a reminder about entering the club races in Sept (Wantage has a closing date of 2 Sept....) and why you might want to swim like a duck, but walking like one is a no-no! A quick thank you to Coach Philip for the tumble turn specific session in swimming last week - it was great to see so many members turn up and give it the full AVTC effort.....an advanced warning, tumble turns will be expected from now on - see the training session for more information. The new autumn/winter timetable will be out shortly so keep your eye on the website and/or Facebook for the schedule. Monday - 19.00 - Swim/Run Training - Berinsfield Lake, Berinsfield
Whilst this is not a coached session, it will help develop your swimming and running endurance, technique and confidence. There is no standard route but the idea is to swim in groups, practice a bit of transition skills and then run the off road route around the lake. Do as little or as much as you would like and no-one gets left behind.
Tuesday - 19:00hrs - Run Bike Run / Cycle Time Trial / Junior Run Bike Run - Dalton Barracks, OX13 6JB ***This is the last of these sessions for the season as we will be heading indoors, come along and see how much you have improved over the season***
Come along for a real blast of exciting training that is guaranteed to improve your biking, running and Transition speed.
There will also be the option for you to do the Bike Loop as a Cycle time trial.
During the year we will keep a record and there may be some prizes available at the end of the season. Best attendance / Most improved / Series winner. For the session you will need to bring: Bike (preferably with rear light), Helmet, Bike shoes (if you use), running shoes, drink and any other equipment you may use during a race.
