Changes to training
Don't forget open-water intro session this - Monday 14th May - see notes in the training schedule below about the session. Also, now the lake being open, the Monday run group will break training until the Autumn (when the lake closes again).
Please note change of parking on Tuesday Run session at Dalton Barracks. Also due to health and safety perspective the decision has been made that members stick to the coached session provided and not do their own training session away from the main group.
This week's training
Monday - Open-water intro - 6:30pm - Berinsfield lake, OX10 7PQ
The session is focused on those new or less confident in the open water. It will cover getting ready, getting in, acclimatising and practicing some of the open water drills we practiced in the pool.When you arrive if you can sign in with the lake (Cost is £5, register as a visitor at the lake or you can sign up through NOWCA) before 6:30pm. If you are hiring a wetsuit could you please hire it before 6:30pm so we can start promptly.If any intermediate swimmers would like to practice some of the open water drills you are more than welcome to join us around 7pm, after warming up in the lake beforehand.Please note last Monday at the lake it was ridiculously busy so please arrive in plenty of time.

Tuesday -Run Session - 7pm - Dalton Barracks
Working on fitness and technique. Please wear appropriate clothing and bring a drink.
NOTE: As of last week the airfield entrance is now the main entrance for Dalton Barracks. This means we will no longer be parking at the entrance gate but at the meeting point we use for the brick sessions. Enter the airfield turn left, 1.26km around the perimeter road is the area we will park.
Thursday - Pool Swim -6:50-8:00pm and 7:50-9:00pm - White Horse Leisure Centre, Abingdon

£3 payable to coaching staff on poolside, do not pay at reception. Please come along to either the session at 6.50pm or 7.50pm, whichever suits you better for a structured swim session that will improve your fitness and technique. If you have them bring along your fins, hand paddles etc. and a drink. Also t-shirt and shorts for dry warm up by the side of the pool.
